Linda Rozenberg - Manager Career Education - Senior Secondary Reform Taskforce - Department of Education

Ash Field - Acting Manager Strategic Engagement and Change - Senior Secondary Reform Taskforce - Department of Education.

Linda and Ash will present on how career education in schools is supporting young people to explore a range of pathways, including vocational and applied learning opportunities. They will also discuss research showing a gradual shift of school and community perceptions regarding vocational pathways for school students.

James (Woody) Wood - CNB Safe

James Wood is an internationally recognised, award winning safety speaker and author.

His passion for sharing Safety Messages and educating employees, employers and management teams on the real impact of workplace injury has seen him share his message from the workshop floor to the boardroom.

Woody as he is often known, uses his experience of having a workplace injury and the knowledge gained from visiting workplaces for over 25 years to share the ways that we can all prevent workplace injury and fatality.

Olivia Baldwin - Outreach Organiser -Young Workers Centre

The Young Workers Centre is a one-stop-shop for young workers who want to learn more about their rights at work or who need assistance in resolving workplace issues. Their team of lawyers, organisers, educators and researchers seek to empower young people working in Victoria with the knowledge and skills needed to end workplace exploitation and insecurity.

They produce resources aimed at assisting young people to understand their rights at work, such as fact sheets, as well as running training days and social events for young people who want to get more involved in the fight for safe and secure jobs.

Youth Take-over

The Youth Take Over (YTO) program is a joint initiative of the Loddon Campaspe LLENs, designed to equip young people with the skills, experiences, and resources needed for a smooth transition from school to work. Youth Take Over is a practical, out-of-classroom industry project where Vocational Major (VM) Year 11 and 12 students engage in real-world tasks over a 6–8 week period. Through collaboration with industry and hands-on learning, students gain valuable workplace experience while also meeting key VM curriculum outcomes.
